Review specific guidelines for modifying and canceling reservations at Disney Resorts—including Disney Vacation Club Resorts, Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Disneyland Resort hotels.
Updates have been made to the booking system to be consistent with Home Resort Rules and Regulations. Refer to the “Disney Vacation Club Resorts” section of this page for details.
In an effort to reduce wait time due to a larger-than-usual call volume, Disney Vacation Club recommends making any modifications to your upcoming trips online.
The following modifications can be made to your trip online:
- Dates, resort, room type
- Add/Remove guests (with the exception of the Primary Guest on the reservation)
- Cancel a reservation
- Create and deactivate waitlist
The following cancellation and modification guidelines are subject to change without notice.

| 11 Months Before Check-In | Modifications to travel dates and room types on a confirmed reservation can only be made when the original check-out date is within 11 months of the modification request. You can still update Guest information or cancel the reservation. |

Important Information for Disney Collection Exchange Option Reservations:
- A modification to a Disney Collection Exchange Option reservation (excluding Disneyland Resort hotels in California) is considered a cancellation and rebooking, and will require an additional non-refundable $95 transaction fee.
- One Reservation Point is equivalent to one allotted Vacation Point.
- Returned Reservation Points will be deposited into the Use Year in which the cancelled reservation falls. Returned Reservation Points may not be used for Disney Vacation Club Resort reservations or for Worldwide Villas through Interval International exchanges and will expire at the end of your Use Year. Returned Reservation Points cannot be banked.
- Transaction fees are non-refundable.

Important Information About Reservations:
Effective January 19, 2019, Disney Vacation Club Members who do not acquire their real estate interest directly from Disney Vacation Development, LLC will not be able to make Vacation Point reservations at some or all non-Home Resorts.
A Holding Account is a "parking space" for Vacation Points from a Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation that has been modified or cancelled 30 days to 1 day before your check-in date.
The Vacation Points in your Holding Account can be used for a new reservation booked 60 days or fewer before check-in within the following time constraints:
Use Vacation Points Anytime During Your Use Year for:
- Disney Vacation Club Resorts
- Tokyo Disney Resort
- Worldwide Villas through Interval International
Use Vacation Points More Than 4 Months Before the End of Your Use Year for:
- Disney Collection Exchange Options (except Tokyo Disney Resort)
- Worldwide Stays through Concierge Collection
These Vacation Points cannot be banked or borrowed and must be used by the end of the Use Year or they expire.
Membership Extras, such as Disney-branded exchange options, options offered through the hotel exchange program (“Hotel Exchange Program”), and any other exchange options, certain discounts, offers, and special events are incidental benefits. These incidental benefits, which may also be referenced elsewhere as part of “Disney Collection” or “World Collection,” are subject to change or termination without notice, may require the payment of a fee and cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. Membership Extras are also subject to availability and block-out dates may apply, including periods of high demand such as Christmas and New Year’s Day. To receive any Membership Extras, purchasers must meet the eligibility requirements and present a valid digital Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, along with a corresponding valid photo ID. Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain an eligible Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must have a Membership consisting of one or more Ownership Interests purchased directly from DVD and symbolized by a combined total of at least 150 Vacation Points. Such Vacation Points requirement shall be determined on a per-Membership basis only, and Vacation Points held in separate Memberships may not be combined or aggregated for purposes of eligibility. Disney-branded exchange options and all options offered through Hotel Exchange are not available for ownership interests not purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, LLC after March 21, 2011, and, effective April 4, 2016, Members who have not purchased an ownership interest directly from DVD will not have access to Membership Extras.
